Although marijuana smoke contains a number of carcinogens findings from a limited number of well-designed studies do not suggest an increased risk for the development of either lung or upper airway cancer from light or moderate use. However, the evidence is mixed when it comes to the carcinogenic risks of heavy, long-term marijuana users, according to this study.
A wealth of marketing material, blogs and anecdotes claim that cannabis oils can cure whatever ails you, even cancer. But the limited research doesn't suggest that cannabis oil should take the place of conventional medication, except for in two very rare forms of epilepsy (and even then, it's recommended only as a last-resort treatment). And, experts caution that because cannabis oil and other cannabis-based products are not regulated or tested for safety by the government or any third-party agency, it's difficult for consumers to know exactly what they're getting.
To name just a few: Animal research and small-scale human studies have pointed to CBD's anti-anxiety and anti-inflammatory properties, NPR reports. A study is underway to see how CBD helps patients with PTSD and alcohol use disorder, and another is exploring how CBD might help curb drug cravings in people with opioid addiction. Cannabinoids like CBD may also be effective at treating cancer-related side effects, according to the National Institutes of Health.
Luke Zigovits, chief executive of Wisconsin-based Hemp Science, said, “We can finally relax. Because now we can source seed, now we can sell our product across state lines. Prohibition is over. It broadens horizons, allowing universities to do research, for example.” Beyond moving the industry into legitimacy, Zigovits said there are opportunities for tobacco farmers in Wisconsin and elsewhere to start growing industrial hemp crops as well.
The legality of CBD in the US varies from state to state, but at the federal level, CBD is mysteriously classified as a Schedule I drug despite its sourcing. According to the federal government, Schedule I drugs are substances or chemicals with no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse. Other Schedule I drugs include heroin, LSD, marijuana, and ecstasy. However, CBD can be purchased as a dietary supplement throughout the country despite the FDA’s official stance that CBD isn’t a supplement. The landscape of CBD legality in the US is exactly as confusing as it reads; that squirrely, perplexing itch at the back of your brain is cognitive dissonance, and it’s an entirely normal reaction.
Most vets will agree that you should not give your dog an intoxicating amount of THC, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana. There are plenty of reasons why, which you can learn about in “Marijuana, Cannabidiol & Dogs: Everything You Want (And Need) to Know.” The quick and dirty version is that dogs will not enjoy THC the same way you might (or do), and it can actually be dangerous. So is CBD better? Maybe. And that’s about the best information you’ll get out of most vets.
My mother has been on pain killers for a failed diagnosis of lymphoedema. After the third day of using this topical on her right arm, the affected area, she has gotten rid of the pain killers and started sleeping better after 2 months of no sleep. She couldn't believe it and neither could I. I just ordered the oils and will most definitely post her successes. Truly satisfied with your product and I hope that the oils are exactly what she needs! ? thank you
THC, an intoxicating and illegal substance, is responsible for causing marijuana users to get “high.” Unlike THC, CBD is non-psychoactive because it does not act on the same pathways as THC. Thus, it is impossible to get “high” by smoking or ingesting CBD or CBD oil extracted from industrial hemp plants, as they only have minuscule traces of THC (<0.3%).
I am so glad I found this/you 🙂 First, we have a 13 year old rescue pitbull. We have had her for one year (since October 2017). She was a bait dog and has severe anxiety. We tried everything we were told. We were giving her 2mgs of Xanax with no relief. She would pace and pant for hours (the longest was 6-7 hours). She was absolutely miserable. We switched to Gabapentin with a combination of Xanax, then Gabapentin with Klonopin. The later combination would completely knock her out. We have been giving her 0.75mg of a 1000mg CBD tincture for two weeks. Last night was the first time in the 1 year that we have had her that she slept while it was raining. She has been peaceful and relaxed today. I cannot tell you how excited I was to see her walk outside, without trembling, to use the bathroom. She was not even shaking. We took her to a behaviorist, a trainer, and other professionals. CBD has given our girl a chance to experience life without terror. I am so grateful. It may have taken 13 years, but she can relax now. They did a story about her on IHeartdogs. I am going to ask the lady to update now that we have found CBD oil.
The mosaic of laws that govern CBD legality across the globe varies just as much as the legislation across the US. Generally, CBD extract is legal in most countries, but what makes it illegal is where and what it’s extracted from. Most Group of 20 (G20) countries allow CBD extracted from industrial hemp, but not CBD extracted from whole-plant marijuana. Note, however, the differences between the two. Legislation regarding international travel with CBD also varies among countries. For the foreseeable future, the best practice would be to search online, or contact the respective embassies or consulates, before traveling to determine whether your CBD is safe and legal.
Best pain medication – EVER! Bought your products from an Expo. I have extreme knee pain walking up and down stairs. I like the cream better than the skin oil. Relief is almost immediate. I thanked God for such a miracle, then I got mad as hell that our government has banned this for so long. Ridiculous!!!! Thank you for making this product. I walked 17 miles recently, as if I was 21 again.
